They came out so delicious! You can find the recipe here. Mine were totally not vegan. I noticed that the pumpkin taste is very forward in these, so you’re probably going to have to be a pumpkin lover to really enjoy them. Happy Thanksgiving!

After I return from my Boston trip, I am going to be moving. Finally. I’ve experienced a lot of anxiety in the past few weeks; not knowing whether to find a place with a roommate or by myself, or even what city I would be in. It feels good to have things settled now, and I’m really excited to acquaint myself with my new neighborhood. Last night I tried to organize my things as best I could with no boxes, and I think I did a pretty good job, considering. I’m getting rid of a lot of stuff, but I feel like I shed a lot every time I move. No point in hanging onto things you haven’t used in a year (or more). My only regret is the couch! Oh well. The elation I feel to be leaving the construction, noisy neighbors, and ghosts behind is worth it.
Also, the new Gmail themes are cool. Cherry blossom, what what.

It’s a bit saturated still, but it’s a very very red flower. It’s nice having flowers around.

So, before I forget (I have a lot of stuff on my mind), I wanted to tell you all the story of my lunch today, and how it was free. I was standing in line at Subway (I wasted most of the lunch hour running around looking for a notary public, of which there are about three in all of Manhattan apparently, and had to grab something quick), and I saw a guy who looked kind of like Jared. On further inspection, with squinty eyes, I realized it was Jared. He caught eyes with me, and started talking to me. Some people (probably marketing) were filming using mini-dvs, and I sang the five dollar footlongs song with Jared like a puppet, earning myself a few free sammiches. He bestowed unto me a giftcard and voucher. I didn’t have my camera with me though, because I was unloading all my sweet sweet Mountain Goats videos from last night at work. Omg best show ever. I’ll post those later.
So that is the story of the free lunch, and if you see a Subway commercial with a girl that looks kind of like me… It’s probably actually me. I hope I look okay.

Right here. If you plan on changing addresses in the next five to seven weeks though, *ahem*, don’t order just yet. Cause that’s how long it’s gonna take. Woops.

I was at a pretty large Obama party last night. To say that people are excited about this president elect, and the ideas he represents, is an understatement. When the newscasters announced that Obama will be the next president of the United States, the room erupted. People were hugging, cheering, clapping, crying… It was an amazing thing to see. There is hope, and you can feel the change in the air today. There is a palpable feeling that things are different now. It’s so, so refreshing that Americans shed their political apathy and made this happen. Not only did we dodge a major bullet with the McCain/Plain would-be presidency, but we picked someone who knows the true meaning of what America is supposed to be about, and will try to get us back to those core values.

Congratulations, Barack Obama!
