The air quotes say it all. Nice 3d, albeit creepy and gross… And hey, at least that dude’s not um. Doing anything in his pants. Let’s hope you’ve seen that SNL video. And for something completely different, I wish there was a studio version of You and I with Ingrid Michaelson and Jason Mraz, instead of whoever sings the guy part on her CD. I love love love this song. The quality of this vid is kinda crappy but the audio comes through nicely… Listen to it already, omg!
PS - I finally caved in and bought another memory card for my camera. I’m tired of having to pick which songs to delete so I can record other songs at shows. I’m excited for it to get here. And since when is it almost 2009?
I’ve been extended a great honor, friends. I’ve been invited to do reviews on jayandwayne.com, and I posted my first one today. Hooray for marginal internet fame.
I ended up at the Ingrid Michaelson Holiday Hop last night at Town Hall. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, since the only song of hers I’d really listened to was that little Sarah Bareilles combo number I posted the video for the other day. Needless to say, due to the title of my post, she rocked it and now has +1 fan. A woman of my own heart with her comedic stylings between songs, I found her charming and easy to relate to. Her voice is really strong and pretty too; I wish I had one like that.
Greg Laswell, who I hadn’t heard of, opened for her singing a mostly somber/sad set, except for these two videos I happened to take. I think I’m in love.
Anyway, it was a really great show. The seated venue made for subpar pics and vids, but what can you do. At least the sound quality is okay.
After some hours of rigorous shopping, and countless tryings-on, I finally found my dress (H&M, less than $40!). Ladies, if you’re looking, I’d stop by there. I tried Macy’s, the Gap, and Express, and wasn’t able to find much I liked. H&M had a lot of nice little pencil skirts too, for relatively cheap. I might switch it up with this little number and use a silver belt, since the black one’s not very festive… And I’ll probably need to get silver shoes. And a freakin cardigan! Guess I know what I’m doing on tomorrow’s lunch break.
Pretty girly post, I know. I’m just excited. It’s not often I find a dress or skirt that hits my leg in the right place. Or that’s inexpensive. Or sleek. Or shmancy!
I’ve been thinking about my favorite Christmas movies lately. While the Muppet Christmas Carol holds the title, one of the notable others is The Snowman. I don’t think it gets enough attention, but then again I feel like it requires kind of a long attention span, because there’s no dialogue. It won a few awards when it came out in the early 80s though. I think I a little biased to liking it because I remember watching it every Christmas season in my childhood, so it’s familiar. What isn’t familiar is when I went looking for it online, and realized that David Bowie is in it. Yes, that David Bowie. Take a look on google videos here. Poignant ending, no?
